Shiatsu is an Oriental form of body-work that "uses hand pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body's physical structure and its natural inner energies, to help ward off illness, and maintain good health." (from Paul Lundberg's "The New Book of Shiatsu")

Each treatment begins with a consultation to determine which meridians (the body's internal energy pathways) require focus at that moment and the whole session lasts around an hour.

For a limited time, Shiatsu treatments are available at the price of only £30 per session.

Mark is available to work by appointment at various venues around the Southend-on-Sea area as well as in the comfort of your own home. Mark is fully insured to deliver competent Shiatsu and is in the last year of a 3-year Practitioner's Diploma Course with the Shiatsu College London (with well over 300 hours contact and training time). This academic year focuses on gaining experience in a clinical environment as well as deepening the knowledge of theory and practice.

Mark also offers Seated Acupressure in the local area. This is essentially a back, shoulders and neck treatment with a basis in Shiatsu techniques that has the added benefit of working with all the energy lines of the body via the points in the back. So while it's a relaxing and revitalising treat in itself, it also stimulates a more balanced state of being. Treatments are performed on a specially-designed chair and last for 30 minutes.
